First Lady of Colo. Jeannie Ritter - Mental Health Awareness

First Lady of Colorado Jeannie L. Ritter is scheduled to speak at Colorado State University at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 20, in the Lory Student Center Theater.

The First Lady will address the importance of advocating for mental health issues and raising awareness for this vital yet often-ignored topic.

Passion for mental health issues
As a past special education teacher for children with emotional difficulties, the First Lady has a personal passion for mental health issues. She also was a Peace Corps volunteer in Tunisia in the early 1980s, where she helped open vocational and educational centers for people with disabilities. She and Gov. Ritter have four children, and their oldest son, August, is a junior at Colorado State University.

Admission is free, but ticket required
Admission is free; however, a ticket is required for entry to the lecture. Tickets are available at the Campus Box Office by calling (970) 491-4TIX or visiting http://www.csutix.com; on-line ordering will incur a $1.00 surcharge. The Campus Box Office, located in the Lory Student Center, is open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday - Friday.

A short question and answer session will follow the lecture.
