Focus the Nation on Climate Change
Wednesday, January 30, 2008, 08:00 AM

Focus the Nation on Climate Change:

Colorado State University

Plan to come, send your students, and bring your colleagues, family, and friends to CSU's contribution to the national teach-in on what we need to know to tackle the problem of climate change.

These two days will feature talks (in the Lory Student Center) by some 35-45 professors, researchers, policy makers, politicians, business-people, and concerned, involved citizens . . . on a wide array of topics related to the causes and effects of climate change - and, crucially, some actions we can, and need to, take now.

-     What causes climate change

-     Its ecological and environmental effects

-     Its effects on human individuals and societies

-     Its effects on winter recreation

-     National defense and oil supplies

-     Alternative energies

-     Political and policy solutions

-     Recognizing and reducing our carbon footprints

-     Emotions and ethics

-     Art and poetry

-     Trade and business

-     What the CSU campus is doing

-     Low-carbon building

We will also screen a national webcast, host a forum for local and regional elected officials, and offer some hands-on activities and discussion circles.

Updates and details of the event will be posted on http://green.colostate.edu and http://changingclimates.colostate.edu/Home.
