ODS/Discoverer for Financial Managment

ODS (Operational Data Store) is the University’s primary data warehouse that contains information from the Banner Student and Kuali Financial systems. In this class you will learn how to access ODS information using Discoverer Plus, a powerful end-user query tool that allows you to easily create reports and downloadable files. These tools will provide a means to easily and efficiently gather information needed to analyze data, with or without using other analytical applications such as Access or Excel.

We will cover:

  1. What is ODS and Discoverer Plus
  2. Why you should/would use these tools, including their benefits and capabilities
  3. Where ODS and Discoverer Plus reside
  4. How to find the data YOU need and
  5. A hands-on opportunity to create a basic workbook query of data information.

ODS access and password is needed for class.
