Presented by Drs. Wayne McIlwraith, David Frisbie, Chris Kawcak and Laurie Goodrich together with guest lecturers Dr.’s Alan Nixon (Cornell University) and Dr. Ian Wright (Newmarket Equine Hospital). This course will provide detailed instruction on arthroscopic techniques at the advanced level. Material presented and performed in the laboratory will include advanced arthroscopic surgery of the carpus, including internal fixation of the carpal slab fractures, arthroscopy of the palmar pouches for fragmentation of the carpal canal tenoscopy of osteochondroma removal, arthroscopic surgery of the palmar (plantar) poush of the fetlock joint abaxial and bisilar sesamold fragment removal, repair of distal metacarpal and condylar fractures under arthroscopic guidance, femoropatellar and femorotibial arthroscopic surgery, arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and tenoscopic surgery in the carpal and digital synovial sheaths as well as bursoscopy. Drs. McIlwraith, Nixon and Wright are the co-authors of the 3rd edition of the text, "Diagnostic and Surgical Arthroscopy in the Horse" and are currently co-authoring the 4th edition.
