Colorado Bach Ensemble

Friday, June 29, 2012

6:30 - Pre-Concert talk by Earl Rivers, Director of Choral Studies at the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati.

7:30 - Colorado Bach Ensemble

University of Denver
Swaner Gates Concert Hall
Newman Center

The ensemble arrives with some interesting personnel, primarily its founder, James Kim, who directs choral studies for Colorado State University. Kim has conducted internationally and just returned from Stuttgart, Germany, where he worked on a production of Bach’s Mass in B Minor.

Not coincidentally, the work is on the program for the ensemble’s first concerts. Bach assembled the piece, set to the text of a Latin Mass, in 1749. Featured singers will include soprano Anne-Kathryn Olsen, countertenor Eric Jurenas, tenor Joseph Mikolaj and baritone Paul Max Tipton. (The Denver Post)

Tickets can be purchased at the event venue box office or at the Colorado Bach Ensemble website
