During 30 years of adventure, Jim Davidson, ’88, has grown from a climbing student at CSU to a veteran expedition leader who guides CSU students on ice climbs and high peaks around the world.  Along the way, Jim has learned some hard-won lessons about overcoming challenge and reaching summits in life and business.

As an author, geologist and professional speaker, Jim distills wisdom from his climbs, rescues, and survival situations; he has spoken across the USA and internationally (www.speakingofadventure.com).  His story of survival and resilience has been made into a one-hour TV episode of “I Shouldn’t Be Alive”.
 

His compelling tale of survival is shared in new memoir "The Ledge: An Adventure Story of Friendship and Survival on Mount Rainer" (co-authored with Kevin Vaughan of the Denver Post), which was chosen by Amazon as one of the Best Books of 2011.  Come experience an epic story of survival and an uplifting story of recovery & resilience.


Acclaimed CSU English Professor John Calderazzo will introduce Jim Davidson and co-author, Kevin Vaughan.


Books will be available for purchase and Jim Davidson will be on-hand to sign the copies following the presentation. Light refreshments will be provided.


This event is free to the public. Guests are welcome to come early and tour the Mountaineering Museum.
