"Bilbo Meets Adam Smith and Ben Bernanke at Rivendell"
Wednesday, November 4, 2009, 12:00 PM
Lory Student Center, Room 203

CSU's Christian Faculty Network event on Wednesday, Nov. 4, investigates the relationship of economics and Christianity.

Beginning with a brief historical background on economics in the Old and New Testament, then moving quickly through the Renaissance and Reformation, we focus on the current economic crisis and various responses from the Christian community.

Is the crisis simply due to greed and corruption on the part of households, firms, and governments? Does the Bible support any particular economic system such as socialism, centrally-planned economies, or market capitalism? Join us on Nov. 4 for a lively and interactive discussion led by Steven Laposa, Ph.D. from the Department of Finance and Real Estate, College of Business.
