In honor of Holocaust Awareness Week, Hillel has teamed up with United Men of Color to bring Joseph Sebarenzi, a Rwandan genocide survivor to tell his story to the masses. Brought to you by:
About Joseph Sebarenzi
Having lost both of his parents and seven siblings in the Rwandan genocide of 1994, Joseph Sebarenzi, Ph.D., is dedicated to spreading a message of peace and forgiveness.
Sebarenzi served as the head of Rwandan Parliament from 1997 to 2000 but was forced to flee his country after finding out about a plot to assassinate him.
He now resides in the United States, where he teaches conflict resolution at the School for International Training. Sebarenzi has also written a personal memoir of his frightening past, titled God Sleeps in Rwanda: A Journey of Transformation.
