Aries Composers Festival – New Music Concert VI CSU’s large ensembles close out the stunning series of Aries Festival concerts with works by award-winning American composers in the new concert music genre.
The Wind Ensemble presents Alex Shapiro’s Immersion, bringing listeners on a sonic journey into a private, aquatic realm; Joseph Eidson’s Upon a Dark Horizon, music inspired by NASA’s Deep Impact mission to send a probe to explore the interior of a comet; and Josh Hummell’s A New Splendor Arises, a piece based on sacred text exulting in the joy of the birth of Christ.
