4th Annual CREW Symposium

It is our pleasure to invite you to the 4th annual CREW symposium on Friday August 3, to be held on the Colorado State University campus.

The event will take place at the north end of the Lory Student Center, 2nd floor, University Club room.

 * Make sure you download the latest version of the documents below as a few changes have occurred, e.g. logistics document and agenda.

Registration is free, but it is required for food.

On Thursday August 2, there will be an opportunity for industry participants to meet with CREW faculty & scientists to discuss research interests.

Students: If you are interested in this opportunity to showcase your wind energy related research, I invite you to register to the event via an email to  Florence Bocquet, Ph.D. (email: bocquet@colorado.edu), and indicating that you will present a poster. Kindly do so by July 27, 2012.

Please RSVP* if you are interested in participating in the below meetings:

• attending the CREW symposium on 8/3, and/or
• meeting with the CREW member companies on 8/2.

(*) RSVP consists of emailing Florence Bocquet, Managing Director, bocquet at colorado dot edu As a note, the CREW leadership is currently in the process of refocusing its research and education capabilities in the areas of: now-casting, short-term forecasting of wind, wind turbine dynamics, and grid integration of wind.

Future opportunities for collaborative research within the 6 CREW institutions (CSU, CSM, CU-Boulder, NREL, NOAA, and NCAR) may include grant proposals towards NSF I/UCRCs and such. You are welcome to join this effort by indicating an interest to either Florence Bocquet (Managing Director, bocquet@colostate.edu) or Dan Zimmerle (Scientific Director of CREW, zimmerle@colostate.edu).
