Opening Reception for Lindsay Obermeyer's "Women's Work" exhibit In the Student Art Lounge next to the Curfman Gallery in the Lory Sudent Center. The Show will be on display until October 20, 2006. Woman’s Work, on exhibition at the Curfman Gallery, takes a new spin on knitting while exploring her roles as artist and mother. Are they one and the same or separate and discrete? Join this crafty artist as she discusses the joys and tribulations of being a female artist in contemporary Western society. Lindsay's Bio:  Lindsay Obermeyer, M.F.A. University of Washington, M.A.T. National-Louis University, B.F.A. School of the Art Institute of Chicago; widely exhibited throughout the United States, venues include Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, the Milwaukee Art Museum, and the Museum of Arts and Design; taught at Northern Illinois University, National-Louis University, School of the Art Institute of Chicago and others; co-authored chapter for Reinventing Textiles: Gender and Identity. Her website is http://www.lbostudio.net.
