Percussion Ensemble Concert - Guest Xylophonist Susan Powell

Colorado State University's Percussion Ensemble, directed by Eric Hollenbeck, will perform with guest xylophonist Susan Powell on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 3 p.m. in the Griffin Concert Hall of the University Center for the Arts at 1400 Remington Street.

Tickets are $5 for CSU students and $8 for the public, plus a small campus box office service charge. Tickets can be purchased by calling 970-491-4TIX or at www.csutix.com.  Performances are popular and advance purchase is highly recommended.

For this concert, the CSU Percussion Ensemble welcomes guest xylophone virtuoso Susan Powell, who is currently on the faculty of the Ohio State University School of Music. Powell has made numerous appearances as a ragtime xylophone clinician and performer, performing at universities and percussion seminars across the country. She made her first international solo appearance at the Lulea University of Technology School of Music in Pitea, Sweden.

In March 2000, Professor Powell was a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago percussion section during its Carnegie Hall debut. She also is an active composer of percussion music and has works published by Innovative Percussion.

The evening will include an eclectic mix of music with works composed by Daniel Levitan, Amadeo Roldan, Raymond Helble, and Susan Powell.
