Midnight Movies Film Series - '200 Motels' The Department of Speech Communication is pleased to present its Fall Film Series on Midnight Movies on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. in Eddy Hall Room 212. Free and open to the public. 200 Motels (1971, Tony Palmer, Charles Swenson, and Frank Zappa) "Touring makes you crazy."  According to Frank Zappa, the idea for this film came to him while the Mothers of Invention were touring. The story, interspersed with performances by the Mothers and the Royal Symphony Orchestra, is a tale of life on the road. The band members’ main concerns are the search for groupies and the desire to get paid. Shot in 7 days. Edited in 11. Costing roughly $600,000.
