Poudre River book release party
Celebration and book-release party for a free-flowing river - A celebration for the publication of a new book, Pulse of the River: Colorado Writers Speak for the Endangered Cache la Poudre, runs from 7-9 p.m. Fri., Dec. 1, at New Belgium Brewery, 500 Linden St. in Fort Collins. The new book is an anthology of new prose and poetry about the river by local and regional writers. Several writers involved with the publication of the book are Colorado State University employees. The event, free and open to the public, includes the debut of a new documentary film about the Poudre and music by Matt Campbell and his "Bottom Line Band." Participants at the event can find out about the dangers posed to the river and ways to help. Books will be for sale at the party. Book royalties are donated to the Colorado Water Trust (coloradowatertrust.org). The event is hosted by New Belgium Brewery; co-sponsors include the Rocky Mountain Chronicle and the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas Program. Organizations represented at the party include Sierra Club, Friends of the Poudre, Trout Unlimited, Poudre Paddlers, Fort Collins Audubon, Citizen Planners, Matter and the Bean Cycle, Colorado Environmental Coalition and Colorado Water Trust. ------------------------------------------- For more information, contact Paul Miller at Paul.G.Miller@colostate.edu, Gary Wockner at garywockner@comcast.net  or Laura Pritchett at l_pritchett@msn.com.
